Faculty Induction Program: A Week of Learning, Collaboration and Growth

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Apeejay Stya University (ASU) successfully conducted its Faculty Induction Program (FIP) for the Fall 2025 session from 28th July to 1st August 2025. This five-day program, held at the ASU campus, brought together faculty members, HoDs, and Deans from across schools, with a special focus on welcoming and orienting new faculty members.

The program began with a warm inaugural session that paid tribute to our Founder Chancellor, Dr. Stya Paul. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh shared the vision of ASU and officially opened the program.

Throughout the week, the sessions were thoughtfully designed to familiarize faculty with the university’s vision, mission, culture, academic systems, and values. The first day focused on Teaching-Learning Methodologies, including engaging talks on active learning strategies such as flipped classrooms and blended learning, led by eminent educationists like Prof. Jyoti Raina, Gargi College, University of Delhi and Prof. Kalyani Akalamkam, Lady Shri ram College, University of Delhi.

On the second day, participants explored Organizational Development and University Governance, with sessions by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and other senior leaders, followed by an interactive session on personality and presence for educators by Mr. Jaideep Sinha, CRC Head.

The third day was dedicated to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), focusing on understanding COs and POs, mapping, and assessment strategies. Hands-on workshops enabled faculty to practice these concepts.

Day four highlighted the use of digital tools and technology in education. Faculty members learned to navigate ERP systems, Google Workspace, MS Teams, and Moodle LMS to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment processes.

The final day focused on mentoring, reporting, and event management, culminating in a unique exercise where faculty members recorded short demo lectures and received constructive feedback from peers and senior educators.

In addition to structured sessions, the program offered opportunities for networking, collaboration, and reflective learning, helping faculty align themselves with the university’s vision while equipping them with modern academic practices.

The FIP Fall 2025 concluded on a high note with certificate distribution, leaving all participants energized and inspired to contribute meaningfully to the academic community at Apeejay Stya University.
