Student Grievance Redressal Committee

Apeejay Stya University provides students various platforms for submission of their grievances and a dedicated Student Grievance Redressal Committee is in place in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023. The appointment of the Ombudsperson has been made by the ASU in the light of aforementioned relevant regulations.

Offline

The provisions have been made to ensure that the students can also file their grievances offline, hence, a suggestion box is installed just outside the Dean – Students’ Welfare office on the first floor of B Block outside SJMC studio so that the students may put their written complaint in that box, which is opened once in a day.

In-person Approach

In case of any emergency situation, the students can approach Dean, Students’ Welfare and Proctor in-person without any prior appointments.

Modus Operandi for Committee & Ombudsperson

The committee shall follow the objective & modus operandi as mentioned in the ASU Policy on Students’ Grievance Redressal and University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023 in the matter.

Publicization of Information

The relevant information related to notification of committee & ombudsperson, UGC regulations, email Ids of Officers of the University and other relevant information is available on the university website as well as the same is being shared with all stakeholders through email & noticeboards placed in university premises from time to time.

Appeals and Redressal

Every aggrieved student has a right to appeal. Such appeals will be made in writing to the Vice Chancellor, within 3 working days of award of the punishment. Delayed appeals will not be entertained.

The Vice Chancellor will consider all valid appeals and has the discretion to mitigate, reduce, cancel or even enhance the punishment decided by the Grievance Committee. Vice Chancellor’s decision will be final.
