Educational Leadership & Effective decision making

The one-week online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Educational Leadership & Effective Decision Making” was held from 21st to 25th October 2024 under the Gyanodaya FDP Series, in collaboration with AIU-AADC and ASU. The program commenced with an inaugural session graced by esteemed dignitaries including Ms. Ruchira Kamboj, Former IFS Officer; Ms. Ranjana Parihar, Joint Secretary, AIU; and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, Vice Chancellor, ASU. A total of 175 participants joined the event, which aimed to enhance leadership skills and decision-making capabilities among educators. The inaugural address emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in education and the role of FDPs in transforming global education practices.

Across the five days, renowned speakers such as Prof. Sheila Rai, Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and Prof. Poonam Batra engaged participants in sessions on topics ranging from leadership philosophies and collaborative culture to the implications of NEP 2020 and innovative decision-making strategies. Hands-on activities, case studies, and group discussions enriched the program, encouraging active participation and practical learning. A special session by Dr. Prabhat explored the neuroscience of happiness, highlighting the cognitive aspects of positive thinking.

The FDP concluded with a valedictory address by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh and Prof. Sasi Gopal Menon, who urged participants to apply their learnings to foster collaborative and inclusive leadership in higher education institutions. Participants appreciated the well-structured program, expressing that the sessions provided invaluable insights into educational leadership and effective decision-making.
