Apeejay Stya University successfully conducted its five-days “Deeksharambh” Orientation Programme for the newly admitted batch of 2025-26
The program commenced on August 11 and 12, serving as reporting days where new students and their parents were formally welcomed and went through the essential registration process, setting the stage for a smooth transition into University life.
The program’s third day, commenced on 19 August with a traditional welcome for new students and their parents, featuring a lamp lighting ceremony and a short film on the Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul Ji. This was followed by inaugural performances by AIU Youth Festival winners and their honouring ceremony. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vijay Vir Singh, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of skill development and innovation in today’s rapidly evolving world. He encouraged the freshers to make the most of the opportunities available at the university, stressing that success in academics and career goes beyond classroom learning and is deeply rooted in acquiring practical skills, creative thinking, and the ability to innovate. Prof. Vimala Veeraraghavan, Dean (Academics) provided a talk on the university’s focus on liberal arts. Her words reassured parents that the university is committed to nurturing not only academically competent students but also responsible global citizens.
Day four, August 20, began with a Zumba session followed by an alumni meet-and-greet. The afternoon sessions included a talk on anti-ragging and a “Nukkad Natak”. Students also engaged in interactions with Deans, HODs, and mentors. The day concluded with a session on ASU’s clubs, societies, and sports.
On the final day, August 21, students were briefed on the library’s resources. A “Dynamic Team Building Workshop” was conducted by Ms. Rekha Bhardwaj, Former GM (L and D) BHEL & Senior Advisor International Training – NIESBUD and a session on mental health and well-being was led by Dr. Manju from the School of Behavioral Sciences. The program concluded with an informative session on the university’s academic and examination systems, Moodle, ERP, and the process for selecting liberal arts courses, preparing students for their academic journey.
