School of Design & Visual Arts (SDVA)

The School of Design and Visual Arts (SDVA) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU) offers industry-oriented programs that empower students with strong design aesthetics and key skills to provide innovative design-based solutions. The programs offered include Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in Animation & Multimedia Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Interior Design, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program for advanced research in design.

Building on the legacy of over two decades of excellence established by the Apeejay Institute of Design (AID) in New Delhi, SDVA continues to provide cutting-edge education in design. The school has strategic MoUs and collaborations with leading foreign institutions and universities, facilitating student and faculty exchange programs, as well as curriculum and research support. These partnerships enhance the educational experience, providing students with global exposure and opportunities to work on international projects. Apeejay Stya University (ASU), located in Delhi NCR, is India’s 1st Industry-Centric Technology & Liberal Arts University. ASU has an illustrious history carrying forth the Apeejay Stya legacy of over 50 years of excellence in education. The School of Design and Visual Arts (SDVA) at ASU is focused on research and innovation in diverse socio-business-environment domains.

Studio and Workshop

The School of Design and Visual Arts at Apeejay Stya University offers state-of-the-art facilities and specialized labs to foster creative growth and technical proficiency in students. Our well-equipped design studios, computer labs, and workshops provide the ideal environment for transforming innovative ideas into tangible creations. Each dedicated space, from the Fabrication Lab for fashion design to the Photography Lab and CAD Lab, ensures that students gain hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills across various design disciplines.

Design Studios

Equipped with spot lighting, full-scale boards for sketching and illustrating, and custom furniture, these studios provide the perfect environment for students to freeze their creative ideas and concepts.

Computer Labs

State-of-the-art labs with the latest graphics and design software enable students to transform their ideas into reality, ensuring they are proficient with industry-standard tools.

Fabrication Lab

This lab, attached to the Fashion Design studio, allows students to fabricate design concepts into garments using the latest machines, bridging the gap between design and production.

Photography Lab

Visual concepts are brought to life in this lab, where students engage in advertising photography, portrait photography, chroma shooting, video recording, and editing.

Interior Design Studio

A dedicated space for interior design students to work on visual and technical drawings, model-making, and research, enhancing their technical knowledge and practical skills.

Digital Media Lab

Focused on layout design, artworks, illustrations, and animation, this lab provides a creative space for students to develop and refine their digital media projects.

Material Labs

These workshops allow students to handle various materials and develop their hand skills, crucial for practical design applications and innovative creations.

CAD Lab

Enhancing technical knowledge, this lab helps students develop their software skills, ensuring they are well-versed in computer-aided design applications essential for modern design work.
