DEEKSHARAMBH2026: Apeejay Stya University Welcomes New Batch

Apeejay Stya University organised the New Students’ Orientation Programme 2026–27, “DEEKSHARAMBH,” from 19 to 22 August 2026 at the University campus to warmly welcome the new batch and familiarise students with the University’s academic environment, values, support systems and co-curricular opportunities.

The programme commenced on 19 August 2026 with the registration and welcoming of new students.

The inaugural ceremony on 20 August 2026 began with a warm welcome to the new batch, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Deans. The ceremony continued with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, followed by an introduction to the Founder Chairman, Late Dr. Stya Paul Ji, and presentations introducing the Chancellor, Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Neha Berlia, and Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh. Short films highlighting the legacy and leadership of the University further enriched the inaugural proceedings.

The address by Hon’ble Pro Chancellor Dr. Neha Berlia provided an inspiring message to the newly admitted students, setting the tone for their journey at the University. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, who formally welcomed the new students and addressed them on the occasion of the beginning of their academic journey at ASU. The inaugural ceremony also featured engaging musical and dance performances and concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the Registrar, followed by the National Anthem.

The subsequent sessions focused on student well-being, resilience, stress management, career development, anti-ragging awareness, civil services opportunities and academic orientation.

The orientation programme also featured insightful sessions by eminent speakers. Dr. Jagveer Rawat, National Convener, Bharat Innovation Research and Development Cooperative Forum (BIRD), delivered an engaging session on “Achieving Excellence in Career and Life: The Gen Z Roadmap.” His session focused on helping students understand the opportunities and challenges associated with their generation and encouraging them to approach their academic and professional journey with clarity, purpose and a growth-oriented mindset.

Mr. Vinod Wadhawan, Retired Director, Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, addressed the students on “Career in Civil Services: Opportunities & Examination Preparation Strategy.” The session provided students with valuable insights into career opportunities in civil services and helped them understand the importance of systematic preparation, commitment and informed career planning. Students also had an opportunity to interact with the Deans and Heads of various Schools and understand the Liberal Arts component of the University’s academic framework.

The final day covered Library Resources, Training and Placement, interaction with distinguished alumni, the academic and examination system, Moodle, ERP and online course registration. The programme concluded with an orientation to ASU’s clubs, societies and sports, encouraging students to actively participate in co-curricular activities and campus life.

Overall, DEEKSHARAMBH 2026–27 provided a comprehensive platform for the new students to understand the University’s academic framework, leadership, support systems, career opportunities and vibrant campus culture, marking a positive and meaningful beginning to their journey at Apeejay Stya University.
