Apeejay Stya University Commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas with a Special Talk on the Journalist’s Perspective from the Battlefield 

Apeejay Stya University observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on Monday, 27 July 2026, with a special commemorative programme held at the Committee Room to honour the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces in the Kargil War. The program was attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar, along with Deans, faculty members and Staff of the University. The programme began with a welcome address highlighting the significance of the day, followed by a special talk titled “Kargil Vijay Diwas: A Journalist’s Perspective from the Battlefield” delivered by Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Dean, School of Journalism & Mass Communication, who shared rare photographs and videos captured during the war along with his first-hand reflections from the war zone, offering the audience a poignant and immersive account of the conflict. The event, anchored by Dr. Manju Rani (School of Behavioural Sciences), concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Head, School of Education, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, leaving the distinguished gathering with a renewed sense of patriotism and gratitude towards the nation’s soldiers.
