State-of-the-art studios, labs, and equipment for comprehensive hands-on training
At the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), we strive to deliver education of global standards in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. Our programs emphasize hands-on training for skill development within a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters independence of thought, creativity, and multiculturalism. Our curriculum is designed to keep students abreast of fast-changing technologies, preparing them for various platforms and functions including Television, Media & Entertainment, Radio/FM, Advertising, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Event Management, Newspaper/Magazine, and Digital Media. Recognized as the Best Journalism College in North India for Industry Interface 2022 by the Center for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) and awarded the ‘Best RJ Link for EV-AIR’ by UNICEF Radio4Child Awards, our school stands out for its commitment to excellence and innovation.
During the transition to online learning, ASU leveraged platforms like Zoom to transform classes into interactive discussions rather than traditional lectures. Podcasts and MOODLE were employed to share videos, class assignments, and online materials, making learning more engaging for both students and teachers. Webinars with eminent personalities such as Rajdeep Sardesai, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, Nidhi Razdan, Jasmita Oberoi, Gul Khan, and Anusha Rizvi provided students with unique insights and industry knowledge, significantly enhancing their educational experience. This proactive approach ensured that our students remained engaged and continued to receive a high-quality education even during challenging times.
ASU’s ability to conduct online classes and examinations on time during the pandemic resulted in 100 percent placement for our graduates in both Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The university's readiness to implement the new National Education Policy 2020 further highlights its forward-thinking approach. ASU’s interdisciplinary degree programs, which encompass humanities, social sciences, natural and formal sciences, have always emphasized a cross-disciplinary approach, providing students with the opportunity to acquire lifelong skills and knowledge. This commitment to a multidisciplinary curriculum has been a cornerstone of ASU since its inception in 2010, positioning our graduates for success in a rapidly evolving world.

It’s the best time to be in the mass communication industry. No wonder, it is called the sunshine industry. Be it journalism, any media platform, print, broadcast, radio or digital, development in technology has taken each to dizzying heights. India is the only market in which print is still growing. Broadcast and radio industries are growing in double digits. And the growth in digital is phenomenal, with more than 30 percent, CAGR. More growth means more jobs. The kind of media education we provide paves the way for shaping up industry-ready graduates in this realm.
We train students to understand audio & video and how to bring them together to tell a story. Our internet Radio - Stya-Vani, our YouTube Channel, our campus newspaper ASU Express - all these are tools that allow our students to get their hands dirty and prepare themselves for the industry and job of their choice.
