ELAAN 2026: Apeejay Stya University Hosts Grand Inter-University Sports and Cultural Fest

Gurugram, April 10, 2026: Apeejay Stya University, Sohna, successfully organized its Annual Inter-University Sports and Cultural Fest, ELAAN 2026, on April 9–10, 2026. The two-day event brought together students from 13 institutions, creating a vibrant platform to celebrate talent, creativity, and sportsmanship.

The fest was structured with the first day dedicated to sports competitions and the second day to cultural events. Day one witnessed enthusiastic participation from 312 students competing across multiple sports disciplines. The event was inaugurated by the Registrar, Dr. Pardeep Kumar, and saw active involvement from both students and faculty, fostering a spirited and competitive atmosphere.

In Volleyball, BML Munjal University emerged as the winner, while Apeejay Stya University secured the runner-up position. In Table Tennis, GD Goenka University won the Boys Singles, Hansraj College (Delhi University) clinched the Girls Singles, and the Doubles category was jointly won by GD Goenka University and Hansraj College, with K.R. Mangalam University finishing as runner-up in respective categories. Apeejay Stya University dominated Cricket, securing both winner (ASU-A) and runner-up (ASU-B) positions.

In Badminton, Apeejay Stya University won the Girls Singles, SGT University claimed the Boys Singles title, and The NorthCap University secured the Boys Doubles, with runner-up positions going to Apeejay Stya University and K.R. Mangalam University. K.R. Mangalam University emerged victorious in Football, while SGT University won both the Girls’ and Men’s finals in Basketball.

The first day concluded on a high note, reflecting strong sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm, and set an energetic tone for the cultural festivities that followed.

The cultural segment commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, and distinguished guests. Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal, Dean of Students’ Welfare, highlighted the importance of ELAAN in nurturing creativity and holistic student development. The fest was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Vir Singh, who encouraged students to showcase their talents. A motivating message from the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Neha Berlia, further inspired participants to strive for excellence.

The cultural competitions witnessed participation from over 222 students across various Universities. Dakshika Sharma (SOET, ASU) secured first place in Mehendi, followed by Kajal Shukla (SJMC, ASU) and Simran Kumari (SOLS, ASU). In Rangoli, Sushmita Chauhan (SPS, ASU) won first prize, with Hema Yadav (SBS, ASU) and Shahina Praveen (SPS, ASU) securing second and third positions respectively.

Pranav Jha (SJMC, ASU) won the Photography Competition, followed by Ananya Awasthi (SJMC, ASU), while the third position was jointly awarded to Atharva Sharma (SJMC, ASU) and Shalu & Ram Kishan (GD Goenka). Rashid Anwar (ASU) secured first place in the Open Mic Competition, followed by Keshvi Priya Sinha and Kajal Shukla.

Amishi Agarwal (GD Goenka) won the Poster Making Competition, while Hritika (ASU) topped Cartooning. In performing arts, Ananya (KR Mangalam) won Solo Singing, while Harsh Chaudhary (MDU CPAS) and Gulshan (JKBS) secured top honors in Solo Dance.

A major highlight of the fest was the Group Dance Competition, where Ramanujan College, Delhi University, secured first place, followed by OXE Dance Academy in second position, while Apeejay Stya University claimed third place.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony celebrating the achievements of all participants. ELAAN 2026 proved to be a grand success, fostering creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange, while reinforcing the spirit of unity and excellence among students from diverse institutions.
