Apeejay Stya University paid a musical ode to Dr. Stya Paul on Friday, the 4th of October on his 105th birth anniversary through an intimate celebration. Commemorating our founding father’s birthday is a way to pay tribute to his determination, hard work and spirit of excellence that helped him rise from humble beginnings and overcome physical disabilities to become of the most successful and respected men of this nation.
ASU’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vijay Vir Singh and Registrar, Dr. Chetan Choudhary led the faculty members in felicitating revered Chairman Sir with a shraddhanjali. A glimpse of the life of eminent industrialist, educationist, freedom fighter and philanthropist of the highest order was showcased to the audience.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of humanistic values as well as academic excellence to become a better student. One should think about how they can contribute their share to the society and country. He read out the message from Mrs.Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Foundation in which she expressed her admiration, gratitude and love for her father.
Soulful bhajans by Priyanka (SBS), Sneha Jajoo (SBS) and Sakshi (SPS) and Manya Dutta (SPS) mesmerized the audience with their melodies. Dakshika Sharma (SoET) performed a graceful dance performance which was enjoyed by all. Mushaira by students of Apeejay Stya University explored the themes of love, sisterhood and self-discovery. Aastha (SBS) and Isha Jain (SPS) were awarded with Dr. Stya Paul Human Values Award for their leadership skills and compassion towards one and all. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sanjay Ahirwal. He appreciated the efforts of faculty members, students and administration staff for the successful conduct of event. Students felt inspired by Dr. Stya Paul’s life and his dedication towards education and wished to work harder to achieve their goals in life.
