Institutional Visit to National Physical Laboratory

New Delhi, September 27, 2013: Faculty & students of Apeejay Stya University’s School of Biosciences recently visited CSIR-National Physical Laboratory on the occasion of CSIR-Open Day. National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is a premier institute for biosensors, nano-biotechnology and for providing standards.

The students were exposed to some frontline techniques like Enzyme, DNA, Nano Particle based Biochip Biosensors, Nano Material Characterisations & Carbon based Polymers Synthesis. The instrumentations exposed included Langmuir Blodgett Trough, Contact Angle Measurement Apparatus, Atomic Force Microscope, FT-IR, RT-PCR, Sputter Coater, Plasma Cleaner, SPR, SIMS-TOF, SEM, EDS and STM. Exposure to frontline techniques and instrumentation is a part of the teaching pedagogy at the School of Biosciences, Apeejay Stya University.
