Prof. Reetu Betala is a professor in School of Design & Visual Arts, ASU. She is the founding director of Apeejay Institute of Design. She holds BA Hons in Fine Arts & English Literature, BFA (Applied Arts in Graphic Design-5 Years).
Enriched with a vast experience in the field of Design Education, Training & Industry, Prof. Reetu BetaIa has developed & designed curriculum and held important portfolios like Advisor and Consultant to the State Govt. and State Universities. She has established pioneering professional programmes in the areas of Design Education to make it suitable for market in liaison with Industry. She has worked with craft clusters on revival projects of Indian traditional crafts, has established training centres for the minority communities in collaboration with the State and Central Govt. with the Ministry of HRD. She has established training centres for the underprivileged women to train and help in generating better livelihood. Prof. BetaIa has worked as a Designer for Indian companies and American fashion houses in the areas of designing, developing and sourcing for Fashion and Textile for the American and European markets. At present, she is fully engaged in conducting professional design programmes.
