Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Kumar Soni is a seasoned academician with over 30 years of teaching experience at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of Computer Science. He holds an M.Tech.
(Information Technology) from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and a Ph.D. in Computer
Science and Engineering from Amity University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Currently, he is serving as a Professor and Head, School of Engineering and Technology (SoET),
Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana. Over the years, he has been associated with several
prestigious institutions, including Amity University, Gwalior Engineering College (GEC), and Prestige
Institute.
Dr. Soni has successfully supervised four Ph.D. scholars, while two scholars are currently pursuing
their doctoral research under his guidance. His research interests lie in Data Science and Machine
Learning, with significant contributions to these domains.
He has published numerous research papers in reputed SCI, Web of Science, and Scopus-indexed
journals, with his work receiving substantial citations on platforms such as Scopus and Google Scholar.
His research has garnered global visibility, with over 15,000 reads worldwide.
Dr. Soni serves as a reviewer for several reputed journals, including IEEE Transactions. He has received
two Best Paper Awards at international conferences and has actively organized multiple National and
International level conferences and academic events.
He has also made notable contributions in innovation, with 10 patents filed in the domain of Machine
Learning. Additionally, he is the author of the book titled “Text and Social Media Analytics for Fake News
and Hate Speech Detection”, published by Taylor & Francis.
He is a member of several professional bodies, including the International Association of Engineers
(IAENG), Universal Association of Computer and Electronics Engineers (UACEE), Institute of Research
Engineers and Doctors (IRED), and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
