Dr. Saroj Kumar brings over 14 years of post-Ph.D. experience in research and teaching at prestigious national and international institutions. His global academic exposure includes a PDF at LNU, Sweden, and collaborative research with seven European partner universities and institutes across Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
Currently, Dr. Kumar serves as Associate Professor and Coordinator, School of Biosciences, at Apeejay Stya University. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, he plays a significant leadership role in academic administration, contributing at multiple levels including the School Coordinator to strengthen institutional development and governance.
Dr. Kumar earned his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from BU, Jhansi, and completed his Ph.D. in Biotechnology at CSIR-IGIB, Delhi & Department of Biotechnology, BU, Jhansi. His research and teaching interests encompass a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary areas, including biosensors, cytoskeleton proteins, diagnostic devices, bioprocessing, nanobiotechnology, and bioconjugation technologies.
He possesses specialized expertise in engineering miniaturized processes, actin protein engineering, biosensor development, and bioconjugation techniques. Dr. Kumar has successfully executed externally funded research projects as PI, including grants from SERB–DST, Govt of India. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, and his work has been widely disseminated through oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences. In addition, he actively contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.
