Dr. Neelam Mahala is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Biosciences at Apeejay Stya University, Sohna, Gurugram. She holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Biotechnology (Gold Medalist) and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Cancer Biology) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), Pilani Campus. She was awarded the DST INSPIRE JRF/SRF Fellowship to carry out her doctoral research. She has taught at reputable institutions like BITS Pilani and Parul University. With a robust academic and research background, she has demonstrated a keen interest in biotechnology, particularly in cancer research. Her expertise lies in mammalian cell culture, microbial cell culture, and various molecular biology techniques. Her research mainly focuses on different aspects of natural products, such as mammalian and plant-based milk. Dr. Mahala has also been involved in multiple interdisciplinary research projects. She has a published patent, published papers in reputed journals and presented her work at various national and international conferences.
