Gurgaon, March 1, 2013: The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Apeejay Stya University (ASU) held a National Seminar on “Techno-Managerial Skills” on March 1, 2013 at ASU City Office, Gurgaon. The seminar highlighted the recent trends in recruitment, management, opportunities and challenges before the pharma workforce of today. The key objective of the Seminar was to provide training about technical and managerial skills to the students, enhancing their expertise and talents, making way for the best possible placements.
Interactive sessions were held by eminent scientists from academia and industry of repute, especially on techno-managerial skills. The key speaker, Dr. V.K. Arora, Vice-President, Ranbaxy Labs, Gurgaon, shared his insight on the topic – Academics in 2025-Are we prepared. Dr. Arora highlighted the recent trends in recruitment, management, opportunities and challenges before the new pharma work force.
Other imminent speakers included Dr. Sanju Nanda, Professor, Mahirishi Dayanand University, Rohtak; Mr. C.M. Chhabra, Corporate International Manager, ASG Biochem Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Alka Arora, Principal, Ram Gopal Pharmacy College, Gurgaon; Mrs. Saroj Jain, Associate Professor, Hindu College of Pharmacy, Sonepat, Haryana; among others.
The inaugural address, given by Dr. Anupama Diwan, Professor & Programme Coordinator at the School, included the launch of the dual degree programme – M.Pharm+MBA for 2013 onwards admissions. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sanju Nanda, Associate Professor, MDU, Rohtak; Dr. M.P. Mahajan, Director, ASRF; Sh. Tarsem Jain, Chief Editor, Pharma Pramarsh; Dr. Zeenat Iqbal, Associate Professor , Jamia Hamdard and Dr. Sushma Talegaonkar, Associate Professor, Jamia Hamdard. About 100 delegates registered for the seminar and 15 guests shared their views. 70 abstracts were received, out of which, 50 posters were accepted and presented at the seminar by the delegates. The student of Jamia Hamdard, MDU and ASU received the best poster award.
