December 05, 2023: It was a nostalgic journey down the memory lane when Sakshi Tickoo and Prakhar Srivastav of School of Journalism & Mass Communication (SJMC) batch 2017-21 visited their Alma Mater, Apeejay Stya University, as part of an Alumni Connect held recently.

This alumni connect proved to be about making connections at different levels. The way Prakhar, who is working as the junior output editor in NDTV India spoke of his four years in the University, especially in the hostel was endearing to say the least. He made connections with the students who had come to listen to them. Talking about his love for badminton and the time he spent on the court in ASU hostel, his nostalgia was palpable. He said that ASU was his second home and it means a lot to him to come back to his Alma mater and share his experiences with existing students.

Sakshi was a day scholar while in the University and she talked about how her teachers encouraged and inspired her to do well. She confessed that when she dropped out of engineering course to pursue her love for writing and hence journalism she was an introvert but how teachers worked on her with the help of reading, writing and articulation. She talked to students about different options they have in lifestyle reporting and what she gets to do at Economic Times.
