December 23, 2023: To encourage the ASU Law Students, an online session on “Cyber Stalking Against Women in India” was conducted by Dr. Sakshi Dudeja, SLS, ASU. Among other things, she notably appreciated the recent developments made by the hon’ble Supreme Court of India to curb the menace of Cyber Stalking by several landmark judgements.

December 19, 2023: With an aim to a bridge the gap between the Legal Education and Legal Industry, delegates from SLS-ASU including the faculty members and students visited the Bar Associations at Sohna and Palwal Courts on 19.12.2023. These Courts are situated in the closest proximity to the ASU Campus.

We met the Presidents of the Dist.Bar Associations to collaborate on possible exchange of resources and workout on a feasible MOU between the organizations for a minimum period of 05 years. The primary aims and objectives of the collaborations were focused mainly as mentioned below:

  • Student’s Internships & Placements
  • Enrolment of Students with the Bar
  • Working closely with Lok Adalats
  • Providing Free Legal Aid to the needy and poor litigants
  • Organizing Legal Aid Camps in association with DLSA
  • Empanelment of Sr. Lawyers on Dept. Faculty Board etc.

Lastly, the Presidents of the respective Bar Associations have assured to extend their support and cooperation to the SLS-ASU in future. They have also appreciated the commendable work done by SLS-ASU in providing Clinical Legal Education to students.

December 11, 2023: To encourage the ASU Law Students, an introductory session on “Need of Excellent Communication skills and CV building: A way forward” was conducted by Mr. Kshitij Kumar Singh, Head, Corporate Relations on 11.12.2023. Need for thorough legal knowledge and excellent command on Communication were actively discussed.

Students were guided for internships and to convert the same to prospective employment opportunities with top tier law firms. Aspects of e-library and other prominent legal resources were also discussed. The process of appearing in interviews for securing excellent placements was elaborated, as also the required preparation for judicial services.

December 05, 2023: It was a nostalgic journey down the memory lane when Sakshi Tickoo and Prakhar Srivastav of School of Journalism & Mass Communication (SJMC) batch 2017-21 visited their Alma Mater, Apeejay Stya University, as part of an Alumni Connect held recently.

This alumni connect proved to be about making connections at different levels. The way Prakhar, who is working as the junior output editor in NDTV India spoke of his four years in the University, especially in the hostel was endearing to say the least. He made connections with the students who had come to listen to them. Talking about his love for badminton and the time he spent on the court in ASU hostel, his nostalgia was palpable. He said that ASU was his second home and it means a lot to him to come back to his Alma mater and share his experiences with existing students.

Sakshi was a day scholar while in the University and she talked about how her teachers encouraged and inspired her to do well. She confessed that when she dropped out of engineering course to pursue her love for writing and hence journalism she was an introvert but how teachers worked on her with the help of reading, writing and articulation. She talked to students about different options they have in lifestyle reporting and what she gets to do at Economic Times.

November 24, 2023: To celebrate 75th National Law Day and the Indian Constitution, School of Legal Studies (SoLS) ASU conducted a series of activities across all the schools of the University on 24 th November 2023. Dr Neha V. Berlia, Pro-Chancellor, ASU addressed the gathering virtually to congratulate ASU for celebrating the 75th National Law Day.

The event commenced with welcoming the respected Chief Guest, Sh. H.L. Tiku, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India and the accompanied advocates. All the dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Prof. Raj S. Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, ASU, Gurugram along with other Deans of Schools, Faculty members & students of ASU.

School of Legal Studies (SoLS), had also organised other parallel events including an essay and debate competition. Several students from other schools participated in the competitions. Awards and Certificates were distributed by the guests to the winners and participants of the competitions. The event was broadcast online on several social media platforms and an overwhelming response and appreciation was received by the attendees.

November 08, 2023: The School of Legal Studies, Apeejay Stya University recently conducted a one-day Legal Aid and Awareness camp on 8th November 2023 at the Government Senior School, Silani, Gurugram, Haryana. The aim was to promote legal awareness among the school children regarding their rights and duties. Numerous activities was then conducted by Students and faculties of the School of Legal Studies such as nukkad natak on road safety and legal teaching and awareness session.


November 04, 2023: With an aim to provide an effective mechanism of Water conservation globally, Prof. Neha Sharma, Asst. Professor, SLS has published a Design Patent on “Integrated Water Recycling and Distribution Device” vide no. 399204-001 dated 04.11.2023 issued by Patent Office, Govt. of India. She has worked in this area for couple of years and published a design patent out of her outstanding research work.

Water conservation refers to the preservation, control and development of water resources, both surface and groundwater, and prevention of water pollution. This patent will definitely be proved as a milestone in global water conservation and lead to a great success.

November 02, 2023: Apeejay Stya University family celebrated the birthday of their dynamic Chancellor, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. The magnificent event began with a welcome address from the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. R.S. Dhankar. The students sang the birthday song with great fervour. Further, a recital of a self-composed poem on ‘Naari Shakti’ was held.

A beautiful thank you note on behalf of Madam Chancellor was read out by Prof. Dhankar where he wished for Madam’s healthy, happy and long life. He mentioned this day as auspicious for a bigger celebration as this year the university got NAAC ‘A’ under the magnificent leadership of Madam Sushma Paul Berlia. The programme was concluded by the Vice Chancellor along with all the faculty members, student and staff who dispersed colourful balloons in the air. Everyone was treated with chocolates as a token of love respect and togetherness.

October 30, 2023: School of Management Sciences (SoMS), Apeejay Stya University, as a university partner of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) attended a thought-provoking session titled "The Future of Work: Skilling and Mobility" hosted by ACCA. The session was dedicated to explore the evolving landscape of work and the vital role of skills and mobility in shaping the future. The session highlighted the need for students to be prepared for global opportunities and the implications of a global workforce. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage with the speakers and seek guidance on their future career paths.

October 28, 2023: The faculty members of School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) at Apeejay Stya University have been selected for the Foundation-level Innovation Ambassador (IA) Training Program. This selection has been done via the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE through the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) established at ASU campus.

Apeejay’s SOET was selected based on the comprehensive reports submitted mentioning details of all the major events held in the past one year such as Hackathon, technical workshops, industrial visit, tech fest, etc. Associate Professor at Apeejay Stya University Manpreet Sehgal is the coordinator of IIC, who led this initiative to earn this eligibility for the Innovation Ambassador (IA) Training Programme. The Innovation Ambassadors training session has already started and every faculty member from SOET has received login credentials, which they need to login and attend training sessions at their own pace and pass the assessment criteria.
