Gurugram, Nov. 2, 2021 : Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated across India in honour of Lord Ram’s return to his kingdom in Ayodhya, after staying in exile for 14 years. Ahead of this auspicious occasion, Rotaract Club, Apeejay Stya University, in association with NSS (National Service Scheme) and UBA (Unnat Bharat Abhiyan), organised a webinar on the theme ‘Lessons from Ramayana’ on November 02. Professor Vikas Dixit, Senior Scientist, National Informatics Centre, Government of India, presided over the webinar.

Professor Dixit, who has an in-depth knowledge and interest in mythology, further focused on the reasons behind Lord Rama’s birth. “He was not just born for the sole purpose of killing Ravana. The hero, Ram, was born to help the poor and the needy. Known as the ‘Maryada Purushottam’, Ram lived his entire life by the rules of dharma. Lord Ram possessed many invaluable qualities. He was a perfect son, a reliable brother, a trustworthy friend, and a diligent student. Later, he was an ideal husband to his faithful wife, Sita, and a responsible, loyal and loving King of Ayodhya.”
