A known educationist of India, Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia was invited to give her relevant thoughts on “Developing Human Capital through Education “ which is a cause of concern for academia and industry alike. Our educational institutions have been churning out degree-holders in large numbers, but how many of them are actually skilled and industry ready is the big question. Inculcating the right aptitude, thinking out of the box, exploring unconventional methods and having the right training and practical knowledge to carry out a job is what the educational institutes need to focus on. The highly accomplished panel, which included famous industrialists and academicians, explored if Education systems in India are ready for the next wave of economic development, what value-creating competencies are required in the present workforce and how can Swiss and other global educational institutions match the skills that India needs.
