Gurgaon, February 14, 2013: The quiet, agrarian Sohna-Palwal road is expected to come alive to the beats of Oscar Awards and World Cinema at Apeejay Stya University. “A fortnight of film festivities to mark the 85th Oscar Awards & 100 years of Indian Cinema will kick off with a film festival, We Care, on February 16, 2012,” announced Mr. Kamal Kant Dwivedi, Vice Chancellor of the Apeejay Stya University.
“Usually one does not associate Sohna or, for that matter, the neighbouring Mewat region with World Cinema, but as a leader of education in the area we wanted to take an initiative to introduce new ideas. I seriously believe that the local colleges and discerning audiences are going to surprise everyone with their welcome,” said Prof. Pervaiz Alam, Dean at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC).
Apeejay’s SJMC will screen acclaimed feature film ‘A Separation’ directed by the eminent Iranian film-maker Asghar Farhadi.
