Gurgaon, March 22, 2013: A Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament was held at the Apeejay Stya University Campus on March 22 and 23, 2013, organised by the students and the ASU Sports Club, led by Mr. Mahesh Sharma.

The tournament was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the University, as he batted on the first ball and was presided over by Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.C. Vaid. The tournament started with a match between B.Tech (Electronics & Communication Engineering) and ASU Blue, represented by the non-engineering students. B. Tech (ECE) won the match by a huge margin of 134 runs and thus entered the Finals.

The next match was played in the post lunch session by B.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) and B.Tech (Mechanical). B.Tech (CS) scored 123 runs for 9 in 20 overs while B.Tech (Mechanical) caught up with them by scoring 125 for just 4 wickets and won the match.

The final match was inaugurated by Mr. V. Thyagarajan, Head, Corporate Resource Centre, on the next day. B.Tech (ECE) won the tournament by 19 runs.

During the post lunch session on March 23, a T-10 match was held between a team of ASU- Staff, led by Mr. Thyagarajan and Mr. R.K. Sharma, and a mixed team of faculty & staff, captained by Mr. Vikas Jindal.

Throughout the tournament, students aired a running commentary of the game with the help of cricket experts.
