New Delhi, Monday, March 26, 2012: Design Innovation India Workshop 2012 – which was jointly organised by Apeejay Stya University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab (MIT Media Lab) was inaugurated at Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi. The week-long workshop was held upto 30th March, 2012.


The workshop started with a lamp lighting ceremony. Mrs Sushma Berlia, President of the Apeejay Stya Group & Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University lighted the lamps with the presence of other dignitaries.

It was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. K.K. Diwedi, Vice-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University. Ms. Nisha Berlia, Member Management Board of Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education Society introduced the gathering about the workshop. She elaborated the opportunities available in the area of design innovation and practical aspect of designing. She also added that this is an initiative from Apeejay Stya University to provide a platform for students, professionals, faculties and researches to join hands and interact with MIT Media Lab representatives in the same platform.

Members from industry, academia and students from all corners of the country, from various disciplines participated in this intensive workshop wherein participants worked in inter-disciplinary teams and created prototypes that addressed the real world problems.
