Gurgaon, August 23, 2011: On the occasion of the Orientation Programme 2011, for the second batch of students to enter the portals of ASU, the chancellor, Mrs. Sushma Berlia, said: “My father, Late Dr. Stya Paul ji, believed in a dream, which is now the vision of Apeejay Stya University. The vision of the Apeejay Stya University is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment that produces young renaissance men and women who would be the leaders of today and tomorrow.”

The aim of Apeejay Stya University (ASU) has been to revolutionise higher education by providing a holistic education through its liberal arts focus and international credit system.

Late Dr Stya Paul had said, “The contribution of industry will depend not on its machinery, nor capital, nor on its sales, but on the calibre of its men and women.”

Aditya Berlia, Pro-Chancellor and Co-Founder, Apeejay Stya University, has followed a hands-on approach, while implanting the vision of ASU. He said, “The University, the very word fills me with joy, excitement and purpose, a living, changing ideal that helps a select few find their calling and destiny in life, but also acts itself as an agent of change for society and the rest of mankind.”

Given the liberal arts focus, students of engineering school have opted for courses from the design school, and subjects as diverse as such sociology and French, which perhaps is not available to an undergraduate student pursuing degree programmes elsewhere in the country. The university will also see visiting faculty from prestigious universities abroad, later this year.

The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. K.K. Dwivedi, a top scientist and former vice-chancellor of Arunachal Pradesh Univeristy, also wished the students every success in their future endeavours.
