Gurgaon, December 17, 2012: The Nano Lab, located at the City Center of Gurgaon, was inaugurated by Mrs. Sushma Berlia, Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University. A hawan ceremony was performed which was attended by Mrs. Berlia; Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kamal Kant Dwivedi; Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Mr. A.C. Vaid; Dr. Joel Roodney and Sh. C.M. Chhabra from ASG Biochem; Dr. Roop Khar, a renowned academician and ex-Dean of Jamia Hamdard; Dr. Manju Purohit from Walter Bushnell; Dr. Anupama Diwan from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; among others.
The Nano Lab offers a single punch tablet machine, six basket digital dissolution apparatus, magnetic stirrer, mechanical stirrer and high speed homogeniser to formulate novel drug delivery systems. To cater to fine research, the lab shall be soon equipped with Probe Sonicator, Lyophilizer and other equipments like Granulator, Orchid all-purpose equipment, Stability Ovens, etc. for research activities in the area of nanotechnology and novel drug delivery systems.
This lab will be useful to PhD and postgraduate research students of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) for their research projects. The Doctoral research associates of SPS are now well equipped to apply to Govt. bodies for research proposals, as now more than a minimum facility required for such researches is available with them. The lab soon will be well equipped to even cater to small industrial research projects too.
