Professor-cum-Dean
Dr. Amit Kumar Goel is a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra). He has vast experience in Software Industry, Academics and Research, spanning over twenty-five years. He started his career in the capacity of a Software Engineer and later worked in various prestigious Universities, in India.
His current areas of interest include the field of artificial intelligence, database systems, graphics, machine learning, natural language processing, programming languages and theory of computation. He has published and presented 70+ research papers in various SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and conferences and 15 national/international patents. He has supervised 5 Ph.D. scholars and over 20 Master’s Degree students.
Prior to joining Apeejay Stya University in 2023, he had served as HOD-CSE at Galgotias University from 2017 to 2023. His achievement at Galgotias University was to implement OBE and CBCS curricula. In his tenure, the department got NBA accreditation and University got NAAC A+.
As a passionate academician, he had been a mentor and trainer for his students and has ensured the highest quality arrangements in teaching, learning and student support system that have ensured students being transformed from potential to professionals.
Distinguished Professor
Prof. Moinuddin is a former Pro-VC, Delhi Technical University and Former Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Jamia Hamdard. A member of several advisory committees, he advises on Science and Technology related pedagogy. He was also Director, Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, Punjab.
Professor
Dr.Sudhakar Ranjan completed his Ph.D from YMCAUST, Faridabad ‘A’ Grade Accredited NAAC State Government University of Haryana. He did his M.Tech with distinction from YMCAIE, Faridabad. He has vast experience of 20 years in academia and industry. He is a professional in emerging technologies like Big Data, Hadoop & Cloud Computing. His areas of research are in Hidden Web, Information Retrieval and Databases. He has also published various research papers in international journals and national conferences. Dr. Ranjan has organised national conferences / workshops / seminars in the capacity of convener / member of organizing committees and coordinator on various area of Computer Science to enhance the skill set of faculties as well as students. He is also the reviewer and editorial / advisory board member of the International Journal of R&D in Engineering Science and Technology.
Associate Professor
Dr Manpreet Singh Sehgal is working as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the School of Engineering and Technology, Apeejay Stya University (ASU). His Doctorate is in the field of deep web data extraction and he holds an M. Tech (Information Technology) from YMCAIE, Faridabad, and B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) from PTU, Jalandhar.
He has been associated with Apeejay for the last 15 years. His contribution to Administration and Academics has been very impressive as he envisioned, designed & implemented ‘APRICOT’ system at Apeejay Stya University, which weaved Accounts, Academics and Administration departments of the University for the purpose of effective management of student registration on the campus. He has also been a Faculty Research Fellow (Domain Area: Fault Tolerant Computer Architectures) at IIT, Delhi, from the period of May 2011 to July 2011.
Dr Manpreet Singh Sehgal has been instrumental in promoting the use of Electronic Media in the teaching-learning process through the introduction of Piazza and brought ASU on the top world universities’ map. He has been appreciated on the international front from the PIAZZA Administration for outstanding contribution in Academics. After getting inspired by Stanford University’s way of teaching, he started the trend of teaching with instruments (to support examples) in his classes.
He authored a number of research papers and got them published in international journals & proceedings of national & international conferences of repute. He has around 17 years of diversified experience, both in research and academia. He has also attended and organised a number of workshops on various latest technologies.
Controller of Examinations and Professor
Dr Parikshit Vasisht is working as a Controller of Examinations and Professor at Apeejay Stya University with a team working in the Higher Education industry for over 18 years. He is skilled in Lecturing, Public Speaking, Science, and Research. He has a strong educational and professional background with B.Tech (ECE) and has recently done his Ph.D. from BIT Mesra, Ranchi (Jharkhand) in Antenna and Microwave Communications. He has published and presented several research articles in reputed journals and international conferences.
Assistant Professor, Physics
Dr. Sonam Raheja has done her Post Graduation and Doctorate in Physics from the Department of Applied Physics, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, 2009. She is a recipient of the SRF (CSIR-India). She joined as a lecturer of Physics at the Apeejay College of Engineering in 2008. In 2010, she joined as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the School of Engineering & Technology, Apeejay Stya University. She is the coordinator of the Applied Sciences Department and the Bridge course programme. She is also the in-charge of the cultural activities held in the Apeejay Stya University, since 2014.
Dr. Raheja’s name has been recommended for the International Travel Grant by DST, Govt. of India for presenting a paper in Barcelona, Spain. She has also presented 10 research papers in national and international conferences and attended a refresher course at IASC, Bangalore & a short term training course at Chandigarh. She has also published 15 papers in international journals of repute and 18 papers in national/international conferences/symposia. She is currently working on a project on ‘Thin Films’ at IUAC, New Delhi. Her fields of interest include nano-materials, thin films, oxide glasses and characterisation.
Assistant Professor, Mathematics
Dr Garima Sharma has done PhD in Mathematics with specialisation in Abstract Algebra (in particular the Clean Ring Structures) from MDU, Rohtak and M.Sc. Maths from Jamia Milia Islamia. Dr Sharma has been teaching Engineering Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics and Probability & Statistics, Business Mathematics and various other Mathematics subjects at Apeejay Stya University since July 2012. Dr Sharma has a rich teaching experience of BBA, BCA, B.Com (Maths) and M.Sc. (Prev Maths) & M.Sc. (Final Maths) in Govt. Post-Graduation College, Gurugram. She has also worked as a Quantitative Trainer in The Princeton Review for GMAT, GRE, and SAT trainings. She has participated in many international and national conferences and has also published papers in various national & international journals of Mathematics & Computer Science.
Assistant Professor, Chemistry
Dr. Shatakshi Srivastava is a Ph.D. from University of Lucknow in the area of metabolomics and Master of Science in Chemical Science (Specialization in Organic Chemistry). She has ten publications in journals of international repute. During her research tenure, She has won few National & International awards from various scientific societies including CSIR fellowship and Wuthrich Grant.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Anurag Barthwal received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Greater Noida. He has more than ten years of experience in teaching Engineering & Computer Science students, along with corporate exposure in training and development activities.
He has published a patent, 3 book chapters and more than 30 research papers in Web of Science and Scopus indexed journals and conferences. He is a member of Association for Computer Machinery (ACM), The Indian Mathematics Consortium (TIMC), Computer Society of India (CSI), Systems Society of India (SSI) and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
He has reviewed manuscripts for journals published by Nature, IEEE, Springer, Taylor Francis, SAGE and Emerald Publishing. He has participated in seminars, expert lectures, massive open online course (MOOC) and faculty development programs (FDPs) organized by institutions of eminence. His areas of interest include Data science, AI, Internet of Things and Mathematical Modelling.
