Ghaziabad, September 27, 2019: The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Apeejay Stya University had organised one day visit to the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, under the direction of the School’s Dean, Dr Anupama Diwan accompanied by faculty members, Mr Manoj, Ms Shabnam and Dr Rani Mansuri.

The visit aimed to make the students aware with the working of IPC to set standards of drugs in the country and also to get them to familiarize with the latest modern analytical equipment. The participants were 75 in number which includes M. Pharm and B. Pharm students.

An introductory session to all the participants about the working standards of IPC was also given by Senior Scientist, Dr K.K. Singh.

The experts of analytical research and development division demonstrated the working of sophisticated analytical instruments like FTIR, HPLC, GC, DSC, NMR and AAS. Students also visited other divisions like Monographs Development Division, Reference Standards Development Division, Quality Assurance Division, Pharmacovigilance Division, Biologics & Microbiology Division and the Library.

Gurugram, September 25, 2019: All the students and faculty of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Apeejay Stya University, wholeheartedly participated in the ‘World Pharmacist Day’ celebration themed ‘Safe and Effective Medicine for All’.

Dr Anupama Diwan, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, advised all the students to practice best pharmacy practices while performing in future – either as pharmacists or manufacturing pharmacists or in research as research pharmacists. She also conveyed the values which have been shared by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with the students

A motivational talk on ‘Never give up and follow your dreams’ by Ms Jasbirr Grover was also organised. The Thespian team at ASU had also presented a theme-based Nukkad Natak that highlighted the key role that pharmacists play in protecting patient safety. Students showed their valuable research/review through a Scientific Poster Presentation on various aspects of the health sector in context of the theme and winners got exciting prizes.

The participants also got complimentary copies of the National Formulary of India (NFI). The day was remarkable with great learning about the safe use of medicine.

Delhi, September 17, 2019: Faculties of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Apeejay Stya University participated in the Annual Health Conference ‘6th PharmaMed HD 2019 - Transforming the Perception of Indian HealthCare Industry’ at the PhD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi. Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Hon’ble Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest for the Conference & Shri Mansukh Lal Mandaviya, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India graced the Valedictory Session.
