Gurgaon, Sep. 29, 2017 : Dr Shashi Bala Singh, Distinguished Scientist & Director General (Life Sciences), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), recently delivered the Dr Stya Paul Memorial Lecture titled 'Interlacing Science, Soldier & Society' at the ASU campus. Dr Singh discussed the challenges that soldiers deployed in high altitudes & extreme climates face, and as to how Life Sciences, DRDO, help mitigate them through advanced processes and equipment, among other things.

Gurugram Sep. 25, 2017 : World Pharmacy Day 2017 was celebrated atthe School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoMS), Apeejay Stya University. The theme for this year’s World Pharmacy Day Celebration was ‘From Research to Health Care, Your Pharmacist is at Your Service’.

Dr. S.K. Salwan, Vice-Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University,inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. S.K. Salwan wherein he emphasised the importance, role and responsibilities of being a Pharmacist.

It was followed by a very informative session by the Programme Director at SoMS, Dr. Anupma Diwan, wherein she briefed the budding Pharmacistsabout the new research areas and drug delivery technologies.

All the students from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, ASU, also took the Pharmacist oath on this special occasion. This was followed by a technical session wherein speakers like Dr. Deepak Yadav, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh and Mr. Manoj Kumar appraised the students about the latest developments in the field of Pharmacy.

Students enthusiastically participated in a Pharma Quiz and enthusiastic participation was also seen in ‘RangarangKaryakaram’ which was held at the end of programme.

Gurugram, Sep. 23, 2017 : The Rotaract Club of the Apeejay Stya University, Gurugramwas established in the year 2013 and since then the Club has been involved in in various social, community and youth related activities. Every year, the new office bearers of the Club like President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are selected from amongst the members, who take the oath of performing their duties in the Club’s Investiture Ceremony. An impressive welcome address by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. S.K. Salwan marked the beginning of the ceremony. This year, the oath for the office bearers was taken by distinguished Chief Guest, Rtr. Dr.Umesh Gupta, President, Rotary Club of Delhi Midtown in the gracious presence of Rtr. Dr. Neha Berlia, Member Management Board, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Chair - Rotaract& Interact.The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Rtn. Dr. Dietrich Kebschull, Co-Chair Rotaract; Rtn. Dr.Kalpana Gupta, Rtn. Dr.Kalpana Gupta, Rtn. Ritika Mittal and Rtr. Ritanshu Sharma, the District Rotaract Secretary. The highlights of the activities held in the year 2016-17 were presented by the outgoing President, Rtr. ArjunChatterjee (B.Pharma student). A perspective plan for the activities to be held in 2017-18 was also presented by Rtr. Ankit Singh, the new President. Amongst the most notable activities held by the Club since its launch, has been the Social Library, related to which a group of Rotaractors presented a short play before the audience. The Rotaractors also showcased their talents through other performances like singing and dances. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rtr. MeghnaChitkara, the General Secretary of the Club.

Gurgaon, Sep. 19, 2017 : Students from the School of Management Sciences, Corporate Resource Centre at ASU, volunteered during the 'India CSR Summit & Exhibition' - the biggest CSR event in India, bringing together companies, NGOs, government agencies, social enterprises and advisory organizations. Students attended the Training Meet on 17th September while the event was on 18th & 19th September at the Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon.
