Patna, July 22, 2015: The interactive event on ‘Emerging Career Trends in 21st Century’, organised by ASU, was inaugurated by Anand Kumar of the ‘Super 30’ fame – an Indian educational programme that started in Patna, Bihar, India under the banner of 'Ramanujan School of Mathematics', by Anand Kumar. Established in 2002, the programme selects 30 talented students from economically impoverished sections of the society and trains them for the IIT-JEE, the entrance examination for Indian Institute of Technology.

The venue for the event, Ashoka Hall, witnessed full attendance from students and media despite of the heavy rains in the city. Anand Kumar, while sharing his experiences, highlighted ASU’s efforts in promoting meritorious students and providing scholarships to the deserving candidates. The programme for the day, scheduled for 90 minutes, stretched for more than four hours. Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, ASU delighted the crowd with his enthusiastic and interactive session. Students were keen to learn more about Liberal Arts as they expressed complete mismatch between their interests and academic pursuits. The academic community of Patna was also present in full strength.

We were surprised to know that students seeking coaching in Patna were double than that of Kota and each year’s intake of IITs and NITs consists of more than 10,000 students from Patna.
