The library is situated in the midst of university and is the hub of all the academic activities. It collectively supports the learning, teaching, research and extension programmes of the University. All students, faculty members and staff of the university are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking its membership. The library has a rich collection of printed as well as electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, fine-print material, e-journals, PhD thesis, project reports, etc. The Library, with its vast collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services, plays an essential role for the academic community in their intellectual pursuits.

Apeejay Stya University (ASU) Library has a collection of over 50,000 books related to different fields like Engineering, Management, Biosciences, Pharmaceuticals, Mass Communication, Design, Education, Legal Studies & allied subjects and more than 100 print journals and magazines are subscribed in the ASU library on a regular-basis.

Library is fully automated and the entire Library collection is made available through the University’s network. Library catalogue has been computerised through Libsys Library Management software. The Library catalogue can also be searched using a common web browser from any location. Users can access the online databases and also find out the real-time availability of Library materials from computer systems/smart phones through Web OPAC.


Web OPAC

It is an online library catalogue, accessible which contains records of all the books, periodicals, theses, Project Reports, Databases and other reading materials available in the library. Web OPAC is developed as a library portal, all the subscribed and open access resources (internal and external) are linked with this page and students, faculty and staff can access all the resources from any location.

DELNET (Developing Library Network)

DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. SciFinder: Chemical Abstracts Service

SciFinder covers scientific areas such as – Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Polymer, Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Medical Sciences, Nuclear Technology and Analytical Chemistry.

UpToDate : Evidence Based Clinical Decision support

UpToDate® is a physician-authored clinical decision support resource used to make point-of-care decisions. Physician authors, editors and peer reviewers have synthesised the most recent medical information into evidence-based recommendations to improve patient care and quality.

UpToDate offers clinical solutions for medical professionals and trainees, clinics and physician groups, hospitals and health systems, academic institutions, government and military, healthcare businesses and patients.

Current Awareness Services through E-mail

The purpose of a current-awareness service is to inform the users about new acquisitions in the library. CAS services include: e-mail notices of New Books arrival, Current journal (New Arrival) Latest subscribed Databases, Library Notice etc.

Reference services and information service or SDI Service through E-mail

Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) service is a type of “alerting service” for students and research purposes and transfers the information to the user's e-mail or other profile area.

Automated Circulation System

Most of the books in library are bar coded and the library uses Barcode scanner for issue/return of books. Records of all the library patrons have also been created in the Libsys package for circulation of books.

Inter Library Loan Service

Inter-library loan service through DELNET, the largest library networking service in India. As we are the members of DELNET, we can access the online union catalogue of collections of around 6000 libraries in India and abroad and borrow books. Books are borrowed on request by the faculty only.

Digitised Question Paper

Question papers of previous years are digitised and uploaded on the web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), question papers are made available to all the students of university. They can use this facility on web OPAC. The question papers can be downloaded from Web OPAC or on request, question papers sent via E-mail to the users.

Digital Repository on Web OPAC

ASU Library has launched a digital repository of Thesis for quick and easy browsing. All the thesis are uploaded on web OPAC. PhD Thesis repository is the collection of the soft-copy of all the research work carried out by the university students for Doctoral Degrees.

Digital Repository Service@ASU

DRS@ASU captures all the intellectual assets of Apeejay Stya University. This platform enables the ASU community to browse research publications using a web interface, for easy retrieval. It is expected that the repository will evolve as a major source of reference for all Apeejay Stya University publications accessible on the net.

Plagiarism software- URKUND

The Central Library is working as a central hub for plagiarism checking of the new Ph.D. thesis and dissertations through Anti-Plagiarism software Urkund. Through this service, theses and dissertations have been checked during this period and originality certificates have been provided to research scholars and UG. We have anti-plagiarism URKUND software in our University as per the incentive programme of the INFLIBNET (Shodhganga), overall functioning under the ambit of the UGC. Individual accounts for all faculty members and research scholars are created to check the plagiarism of research work.
