“The year 2015, which also happens to be my 4th and final year with the ASU, has proved to be fantastic for me. First, SJMC chose me to jointly present and produce a radio documentary on the theme of Sexual Assaults with the students of USA’s Nicholson School of Journalism and Mass Communication (UCF), Orlando, as a part of Student Exchange Programme. Secondly, I guess, as a reward for my work, I was sent on a month-long internship with the British Broadcasting Corporation in New Delhi.”

“I come from the North-Eastern state of India, Manipur. But I must say that I felt at home throughout my stay at the Apeejay Stya University during my stay at the ASU. I was so pleased when they arranged my internship with All India Radio in my hometown Imphal at my request, as I wanted to spend time with my family during the summer holidays. For me, the most exciting moment was the time when I was able to interview India’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Kiren Rijiju for ASU’s Radio Styavani. My parents are so proud of me.”

“Both my parents and I shortlisted Apeejay Stya University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication for my admission in BJMC after visiting the campus and once they had met the SJMC faculty. Period! I’m enjoying every moment of my life.”

Life in my hometown Rourkela (Odisha) was good but I had to look away from Rourkela as I wanted to pursue my masters in journalism and mass communication from an institute of higher learning. I shortlisted Apeejay Stya University’s SJMC, visited the campus in Gurgaon with my father and the moment I met the faculty members in the SJMC studio – my decision was made. I’m so pleased to be here among professionals from the broadcast industry.

Lucknow to Gurgaon on a learning curve, that’s my story in a nutshell. After completing my BJMC in the capital of UP, I was looking for an excellent MA programme in journalism and mass communication. Lucky to have found place in SJMC, ASU, where emphasis is on hands-on-job training. As Mr. Narendra Modi was going to win an absolute majority, I was covering his associate Amit Shah’s press conference in New Delhi while shadowing a senior correspondent of the Daily DNA. It was all arranged by my faculty in-charge.
