Mehfil-e-Mushaira

Gurugram, Sep. 2017: The 5th edition of the ASU Mushaira, organised every year to mark the birth anniversary of ASU’s Founder Chancellor, Dr Stya Paul saw a galaxy of poets, some of whom – Malavika Kodiyath, Abhimanyu Sharma and Prerna Singh – presenting their original poems. The Mushaira got a brilliant start from Riya Gautam, the emcee of the show. The audience loved Aparna Tripathi, Pankhuri Singh (who recited Majaz) and Supreet Aneja (Amrita Pritam’s poem in Punjabi). They also cheered for Govind Narayan (Pushkin translated), Rupa Barua (Burmese poem), Sushma Das (Bengali poem) and Sravya MG (Mahadevi Verma). Newcomers Kusum and Kajal dared to recite works of heavyweights like Faiz and Mir and received a lot of appreciation. What a wonderful tribute it was to Dr Paul, a great lover of poetry.
