Apeejay Stya University inaugurates Media Festival 2016
Gurgaon, 8th February 2016: The annual ‘Media Festival’ at Apeejay Stya University began today with lot of enthusiasm and promise at the University campus situated at Sohna and was attended by eminent media person of the country.
The event kicked off officially on an auspicious note by the lighting of the lamp by the guests of honour. To begin the proceedings, the guests and students were ushered to BS-10 for the inauguration of the photo exhibition by Mr Aditya Arya, Founder of India's first museum of cameras and Mr Jawahar Sircar, CEO, Prasar Bharati.
The welcome address was given by Dr SK Salwan, the Vice Chancellor of ASU, who said that sadly according to the Indian mindset financial stability takes precedence over other things, but, education should be a pathway to spiritual peace and enlightenment. He also talked about the changes society admits due to the passage of time.
Post the welcome address began the first session of the day, a lecture on "Why Don't We Shut Down the Public Broadcaster?" By Mr Sircar, who in his opening statement pointed out that every generation had the fundamental right to make mistakes.
