Aditya Vijay Kumar Berlia
Mr. Aditya Berlia, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor of the Apeejay Stya University and a member of the Management Board of the Svrán Group and the Apeejay Stya Group (a constituent of the Svrán Group), is a young entrepreneur and educationist. A multi-faceted personality who balances his role in the corporate world with his philanthropic dedication to education, Mr. Berlia has to his credit several innovative industrial, entrepreneurial and educational initiatives, both in India and abroad.
Mr. Berlia plays a holistic, entrepreneurial role as part of the Executive Management Board of the Apeejay Stya Group and Svran Group where he directs strategic projects and executes key projects while holding direct operational roles in a number of companies.
The Apeejay Stya and Svran Groups are diversified manufacturing and service companies that operate in numerous industry verticals, including life sciences, chemicals and plastics, logistics, distribution and retail, real estate and development, financial services, information technology, the automotive industry, and publishing.
As the Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor of the Apeejay Stya University, he has been instrumental in developing the broad vision of the university and setting in place systems and processes to deliver on the promise of an institution of excellence that blends together the dual identities of a technology- and research based university with a liberal arts institution.
As a serial entrepreneur, Mr. Aditya Berlia has set up several companies and start-ups that offer niche solutions in areas of industrial innovation.
Mr. Berlia holds a B.S. (Hons.) from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Mr. Berlia has been a champion of Design Think and Innovation. He serves on the board of the Apeejay Institute of Design, one of India's oldest design schools. He has led teams in the design of products and services ranging from biomechanical to GUIs to financial services. In 2011, he was one of the twenty-five people selected to present to the government to assist with the formulation of national policy on innovation and design. He has acted as a consultant on Design Think for a number of organizations, including the University of Delft in their proposal to the government of India. He has been invited to speak at a number of design forums including MIT Innovation Lab 2011, CNBC India Innovation Debate, the CII-National Institute of Design Summit, Product Design Days Chennai, and the World Brand Congress.

Pharmaceutical and Biotech
Mr. Berlia has wide global experience in the pharmaceutical industry across the value chain, from manufacturing to marketing and R&D. He has promoted a long-term, sustainable pharmaceutical industry that balances access, equity, and profit incentives. In 2011, he presented the Indian drug policy on behalf of the Indian government in Osaka, Japan that was organized by FICCI-IDMA and OPMA. In 2012, he was asked by the Ministry of Health to give the industry perspective at its annual conference with FICCI. Has served on the marketing committee of OPPI for a number of years, as well as on the committees of a number of chambers of commerce. His views have been solicited by CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and Pharmaexcil for the formulation of their policy and government responses.

He is the Pro Chancellor and Co-Founder of Apeejay Stya University, a research-based global seat of learning established with the mission of providing a supportive and nurturing environment that produces young renaissance men and women who would be the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr. Berlia is also the Joint Secretary of the Apeejay Education Society, one of India’s largest private non-profit education foundations with 13 schools and 16 institutions of higher learning across the country imparting education to over 32,000 students spread across 28 campuses.
He is the Founder of the Apeejay Stya Education Research Foundation, a non-profit foundation formed with the mandate to improve the quality and availability of education in India. Its activities include research; giving grants; conducting seminars, lectures and workshops; teacher professional development; influencing government policy; and publishing books and journals.
He has been invited to chair and speak at a large number of events, including the National Education Conclave on Liberal Arts, CII Education Summit, the WEASC World Culture Congress, Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, EduSummit '11, the National Convention of School Counselors, and the Summit on National New Curriculum Development.
Mr.Berlia is a passionate proponent of excellent human resource management in organizations with particular interests in the HR transformation of family-owned and managed companies. His views and articles on human resource management have appeared in several leading newspapers in India. He has presented papers and been a session chair at the AIMA 10th and 11th National HRM Summits. He was the plenary session moderator at the USA-India Business Summit, 2011 in Atlanta. Mr. Berlia will be speaking at the World HRD Congress in 2013.
Mr. Berlia's mass-published work includes a book on poetry, a non-fiction handbook on ragging in educational i, and a comic book for pharmaceutical sales. He currently serves as an editor-at-large of Apeejay Stya Publishing, which publishes a wide range of academic magazines, journals, and text-books. He is also the author of a National Best Seller fiction, named “Tantra by Adi’

His views on the industry and information systems methodology have frequently appeared in trade magazines.
