International Two-Year Teaching Fellowship
The Apeejay Stya University invites applications for its two-year teaching fellowship in India. Applicants would be based in Sohna (Gurgoan district of the state of Haryana in India), and would take up to three classes in the subject of their proficiency. Fellows would gain experience in teaching in another culture, within an extremely innovative university system.
Applicants should hold at least a Master’s degree in their field. Preference would be given to holders of PhDs and those with prior teaching experience.
The Apeejay Stya University is committed to a high level of academic freedom. While classes taught would be audited as per university norms, teaching fellows would have discretion on pedagogy, evaluation and adapting the in-class syllabus to emerging trends in education/industry and their own teaching style.
Research is highly encouraged at ASU and teaching fellows would be able to use any facilities the university has to explore their own research interests. They would also have access to the student body for research assistants. The university would also fully support external grant applications.
Subjects for Teaching Fellowships
Teaching fellows will be provided with on-campus or near campus accommodation, along with meals at the campus dining area. A teaching stipend would also be provided which would approximate to around $1000-$1500 USD per month.
Emotional Maturity and Cultural Sensitivity
While the Apeejay Stya University in academic terms has a global multicultural outlook, it is situated in a country with a diverse culture. Teaching fellows must possess emotional maturity in handling cross-cultural interactions and must be willing to steep themselves to a certain degree within the cultural norms.
