Gurugram, April 2018: ‘ओ री चिरैया! O Re Chiraiya’ activity was organised by NSS, ASU, which aimed at sensitizing students about environmental issues. Students arranged water and food grains bowls for birds, particularly sparrows which are at the verge of extinction, thereby ensuring that birds get respite from the hot weather in summers.

Gurugram, March 2018: On the occasion of the 45th Anniversary of the 'Chipko Movement', a plethora of activities was organised by the NSS, ASU. These included activities like ‘Plant a Tree: Take a Selfie’, Poster Competition, oath for protecting the environment, etc. The winners were also rewarded trophies by the Rotoract Club of ASU.

Mumbai, March 2018: A group of students from ASU’s School of Biosciences attended a two-day Student Outreach Program (SOP) on Biotechnology at Mumbai from 28 Feb. – 1 March 2018. The SOP was organised by Chemtech Foundation and Reliance Life Sciences.  Its primary objective was to bridge the gap between the students (Biotechnology) and the industry. It comprises various events that provide an insight to the students about the functioning of the Biotech Industry.

School of Biosciences students also presented their research work on KYMRIAH, a gene therapy for B cell origin leukemia and CD19 directed treatment. The work was well-praised and ranked 4th at the event. The students’ team included Ms Aishwarya Khadanga (8th Sem. IBT), Mr Tintu Johnson (8th Sem. IBT) and Mr Mrinal Choudhary (3rd Sem. IBT).

Gurugram, March 22, 2018: Apeejay Stya University (ASU) organised a Sports Festival ‘Energia 2K18’ on 21st & 22nd March 2018. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Hon. Vice-Chancellor of ASU, Dr. S.K. Salwan, Dean-Academics, Dr. Joel Rodney, Deputy Registrar-Academics, Dr. Varuna Tyagi and other dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Ajai Singh, Chief Executive, Civil Works & Estate, DRDO.

Various events took place, including – 100mts race for boys & girls & faculties (male & female), 3 Legged Race for girls, High Jump, Long Jump, Discus  Throw, Shotput, Javelin Throw for boys & girls  Foot Ball, Volley Ball & Gully Cricket for boys, Basket Ball & Table Tennis for boys & girls and Cricket - for faculties & staff (for males).

The events were conducted under the leadership of Sports Officer, Mr. Mahesh Sharma, along with the student volunteers. The festival saw participation from huge number of students from other universities as well. Umpiring was done by high profile umpires from Delhi University, Nehru Stadium, Thyagraj Stadium & Northern Railways.

Gurugram, Jan. 29, 2018: The School of Journalism and Mass Communication, ASU, organised a workshop on 'Visual Storytelling Techniques' by Prof. Phil Peters, School of Design and Visual Arts, University of Central Florida. Students pursuing Mass Communication and Design learnt about the importance of intricate details of set designs and character appearances in film-making. Prof. Peters has over 20 years of experience in this field and has even won an Emmy Award for his series – Northern Exposure. A Workshop from a seasoned professional like him was exciting for the students. The interactive session hooked the curious young minds to understand the role of a production designer and how to go about their careers.
